Encounter
As I continue to prepare to travel to California for a visit with an old friend in a VA hospital, I am feeling more sorrow than wonder. Czeslaw Milosz' poem "Encounter" offers me a shift in consciousness to that of wonder and even gratitude.

ReplyDeleteSorry about that, am. I deleted the comment because I wrote it much too quickly, and it made no sense. What I wanted to say was this poem you linked to is quite spectacular. It says so much in a few words. I think I want to understand out of both sorrow and wonder.
ReplyDeletethe composition of this early photo reminds me of many of the paintings I have seen from more recent times, the lovely run of shape and color. kjm
