I was once a summer intern for Toni Morrison and then she was the commencement speaker at my college graduation. Sitting in the audience, I felt as if we had all been touched by the sublime. To think they are now trying to burn her books. This more than almost anything else, even the Jan 6 insurrection, tells me how fully we have entered the dystopia.
