Talking Cricket During The First Days of Spring

Jiminy Cricket was billed as "the only conscience with a sense of humor."

Funny how the mind works.  I looked at Jiminy Cricket's top hat and thought of this:

Coincidence? On March 28, 2007, on his Theme Time Radio Hour, Bob Dylan played "I'm No Fool," by Jiminy Cricket:

Chop the water
Pump the hay
Shoe the eggs
Water the pump
Butter the cow
Water the milk
Churn the horse
Milk the grain
Sow the shoe
Pitch the field
Water the plow
Chop the eggs

which reminded me of this:

It is spring again.  The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.
(Rainer Maria Rilke)

I do love the wabi-sabi Dylan best of all.

We had a cassette tape (those things long before audio books) with the Disney version of the story of Pinocchio, complete with the songs etc. and "Always let your conscience be your guide" has been a secret code between our daughter and us parents, only she picked it up as "Always let your conscience be your guy" and we have been looking for that guy ever since.

'Blood in your eyes' — just love it.

Re. the word play:

'An' he just smoked my eyelids
An' punched my cigarette.'

Time to catch up with comments. My days have been fuller than usual.

Zhoen -- O yes! Wabi-Sabi.

Sabine -- Thank you for the teaching story. I'll be hearing "guy" instead of "guide" from now on!

Solitary Walker -- My favorite part is when he juggles while walking across the bridge:

"... When the dawn came over the river bridge, I knew it was up to me ..."
