Memorial Day Weekend Bird Visitation 2023

Last year, at the beginning of Memorial Day Weekend, a flock of Cedar Waxwings appeared on a young alder tree that is growing in the cattail pond I can see from my porch.  This year a Black-headed Grosbeak appeared at the suet feeder attached to the wooden beam at the left side of my porch.  These are birds that I see only rarely.

My online social energy is still very limited.  I've been posting on Tumblr, which requires no social energy:

My creative energy is up and am working on a series of 53 tiny mandalas which begin with an essential Chinese Character at the center.  Most are finished within a short period of time.  I'm using colored pencils and Poétique brush pens on small squares of printmaking paper which were given to me to encourage my creativity.  Here is #6:

As always, sending love to blog friends near and far.

Wow! I love hearing that Black-headed Grosbeak. I haven't heard one in such a long time. Such a beautiful song.
I'm going to check out tumblr.com. I don't think I've ever been on that platform before.
So glad to see you are still being your incredibly creative self, am. Your art is always so beautiful.
Take care there.

I'm glad your creative energy is flowing Am. I understand that online social energy can flag, as sometimes with creative energy it can be very focussed inwards. It has taken some time and energy for me to write on the blog lately, and thank you for your comment.

Sorry I never left a comment on this post. I read it in real time but was trying to meet a work due date. But I'm here, hoping you are well, and loving your beautiful mandalas.
