Real

Too much to process has kept me from posting much at 37th Dream in the past weeks.  Our blogging community is never far from my mind.

I don't listen to music constantly as I once did or even very often and am grateful for a local young friend who told me that "Real" is one of her favorite songs.

Music and lyrics written by my dear friend, Deven, after her husband's death from ALS in 1990:

I rarely listen to music anymore, haven't for years really. this time of year I open the door and listen to birds and windchimes and the other sounds of nature. the only time I really listen to music is in the car.

I stopped listening to music a few years ago and my life is poorer for it.

I really like your photos.

I rarely chose to listen to music these days when I am at home. I always had music in the background for so many years, hard to imagine I could think. Now, I stop and join R in his study when I hear a particular song or piece because he has music on all the time. But like Ellen, in the car, the only place I still listen purposefully to music.

Music-used to be SO important but not now. Sex-used to be SO important but not now...could go on and on, right?

The beauty of aging, not needing the distractions, enjoying the comfort of silence...

I am so glad to see a post here. I had been wondering how you were doing. The skies there have been beautiful. We listen to music all the time. Mostly calm, mellow stuff. Just the other day we found William Ackerman's Meditation album on youtube. Streamed that the whole rainy afternoon.
