Mandala #47 (unfinished but moving along well)

I've had a common cold for the last 9 days.  No fever.  No cough.  No shortness of breath.  Surprisingly, I had the energy to begin a new mandala.  Nothing happening here that is not happening everywhere now, although the last few days have been sublimely beautiful with clear blue sky during the day and a good view of the moon and stars at night.

Sending love to blog friends near and far.

I love the colors in this one. I'm glad you are beginning to feel better.

We certainly are getting the opportunity to be homebodies and delve into our respective interests. (I'm getting a lot of cleaning and organizing done)

Be well, be cautious, and get into nature when you can! xoxo

Puffins at the bottom?

Stay well. Look after yourself and keep drawing.

I hope you feel better soon, am. These are interesting times. Making your beautiful mandalas is a wonderful balance to it.

Be well, dear friend. Rest and hydrate for that cold. Hugs.

So beautiful. How do you make them?

Everyone -- Thank you for your kind words.

Sabine -- I bought that soapstone carving 40 (?) years ago for my mother. It came to me after she died. The birds remind me of California Quail but with a little Googling, I found that the carving is from Africa, and that they are African Quail. I bought them at the local art museum gift shop and had long forgotten that they were from Africa. I am fond of them and keep them on my art table. Thanks for asking. Good to have my memory refreshed.

Elizabeth -- Thank you. Glad you like it. Each mandala is drawn on a piece of 8-1/2 "x 11" Bristol board with Polychromos Faber-Castell colored pencils. The mandalas are completely intuitive and intentionally asymmetrical. I never know when I begin what the result will be. One pencil mark leads to another.

The mandala is lovely but I like the birds on the table below too. Stay well.
