No eye / Just a green shining sun

"You have an idea; it comes from somewhere, and it works.  It always comes from deep down.  You don't know why you do it; you don't know what makes it work; you don't even know until afterwards, maybe, what happened.  It just sort of happened."
(Dale Chihuly)

If asked, I tend to say that my eyes are blue, but today it occurred to me to try to photograph my eyes with my new camera using the Macro function. For some reason, the pupils came out blue-green.  I would say that my eyes are more green than blue.  The iris color is pretty much what I see when I look in the mirror.  There is not much color distortion.

“you are right john cohen — quazimodo was right — mozart was right…  I cannot say the word eye any more …  when I speak this word eye, it is as if I am speaking of somebody’s eye that I faintly remember …  there is no eye — there is only a series of mouths — long live the mouths — your rooftop — if you don’t already know — has been demolished …  eye is plasma & you are right about that too — you are lucky — you don’t have to think about such things as eye & rooftops & quazimodo.”
(Bob Dylan quote from the 1960s)

Here's another Green Shining Like The Sun from 2009. I had the feeling that I was repeating myself ...

Fourth and Walnut
Tenth and Main
Anywhere I'm standing
We are all the same
Every single beat
Every single breath
Every single day
Fades into the west
Shining like the sun
We are all shining
Like the sun
Earth and heaven
Diamonds and tar
Hold a flower
Touch a star
Sorrow fills my eyes
Tears are gonna fall
Down into the river
Where they will all (be)
Be shining like the sun
We are all shining
Like the sun
Shining like the sun
We are all shining
Like the sun
Standing on the corner
Looking on
Just want everyone
To know (they're)
They're shining
Like the sun
We are all shining
Like the sun
Shining like the sun
We are all shining
Like the sun
Kingdom come
Love be done
Here on earth
Just like in heaven
Shining, shining
Like the sun
We are all shining
Like the sun
Shining like the sun
Shining like the sun
Shining like the sun

Trying to see your own eye is like trying to bite your own teeth. Nothing will come of it.

Tara -- Thanks for the Kate Campbell lyrics. I'm not familiar with her music. I looked for this song on YouTube and ended up listening to "Jesus and Tomatoes" as well as "The Last Song" which is like midrash. Interesting to learn that her story-telling is compared to that of Flannery O'Connor and that John Prine has done guest vocals on her albums.

Nick -- Yep. I'm in koan territory all right (-:
