'Cept the one you can't see with your eyes

Listen.

And there's no exit in any direction
'Cept the one you can't see with your eyes.

(from "Series of Dreams," music and lyrics by Bob Dylan, 1991)

I'm awake because of the third in a series of nightmares that turned thoughtful and brought unexpected healing to some very old wounds. The first nightmare was last September. The second was a few nights ago.

I'd already gone the distance
Just thinking of a series of dreams

(from "Series of Dreams," music and lyrics by Bob Dylan, 1991)

Today we saw you walk from across the pond wearing your coat and hood, am, and you looked like Boudica, Warrior Princess. In the wind of winter walked the Warrior Princess alone with her dreams. Sweet dreams.

Panda Pig -- Thanks so much for leaving a comment. I've been enjoying your blog.

When I was a little girl, one of my favorite writers was Rosemary Sutcliff because she told stories about girls and boys during during a historical time of oppression in Britain. The strong spirits and courage of those children gave me hope for my own life.

I don't know much about Boudica, but just now while trying to find out more about her, I discovered that Rosemary Sutcliff wrote a book about Boudica, but it hadn't been written when I was a child.

Song for a Dark Queen (1978), by Rosemary Sutcliff, retells the story of Boudica!

The black and white illustrations for Rosemary Sutcliff's books inspired me to want to be an artist!

Thank you for your unexpected vision of me. I do feel at my best when I am out walking. I am amazed to think that I look like Boudica through your eyes.

You do! You do! We guinea pigs of the "Herd That Hears" would follow you into battle any time as long as there would be snacks and lap time afterward. And will you show me that book sometime? I love pictures and it sounds like those are good ones if they are the Original Inspiration for your life as an artist. Hope to see you walking more now that spring wants to be seen, sniffed, touched, heard, and consumed with all that is Holy in us!
