Standing Bow Pose Revisited / Sweet Baby James Revisited

It wasn't until 2007, when I was 57 years old and in a Yoga Teacher Training setting, that I ever tried the Standing Bow Pose, although I had taken my first yoga class in 1970 when I was 20. I think that my pose from 2007 or 2008 (the second photo) looks better than my pose this morning, but I haven't been doing that pose regularly and plan to add that to my home practice. A few weeks ago, I returned to classes at the B.K.S. Iyengar School of Yoga in Bellingham after many years of a regular home practice. It is good to be working with my old teacher again. She has suggested several poses for me to add to my home practice.

Last week, Richard's sister and brother-in-law sent me the James Taylor Greatest Hits CD which includes "Sweet Baby James," which, like yoga classes, first came into my life in 1970 when Richard was in Vietnam.

Oh I am so jealous. Since my balance organs got hit by autoimmune shits I cannot do any standing or bending postures any more. Which makes it rather boring.
But lovely James Taylor, thanks!

this is such a delightful post! beautiful pose! the yoga connection is so lovely, isn't it? everyone resonates with a different style. on saturday, i posted this to my facebook page:

nicoleandgwendolyn: getting cranky from today's non-flowy yoga class is indication that i like my yoga pretty, like a dance. good lesson. never give up searching for your yoga. finding it = happiness. :)

i'm reading iyengar's "light on yoga." i have a bendy back, and i can properly hold both ankles whilst standing in a backbend. but i CANNOT, at this point and time, release one ankle, lifting my foot toward the ceiling. so that's my current goal! i expect to have it down by may!!!!!!!!! :)

please post more about your yoga practice! i shall wait with baited breath! xxx

Sabine and Nicole -- Thank you for your comments. There are at least three of us here who have a yoga practice!
