We must have an important conversation about the experience of people of color and minority populations with law enforcement. As we saw this past summer, law enforcement has the capacity to use proportionate or disproportionate force at will ..."

Interesting being here in the UK, on the outside, looking in.

I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking that if BLM protestors had stormed the Capitol, there would have been many more deaths.

For sure if the rioters had been brown, black or Muslims they would have met with deadly force. It’s not surprising though as this is the double standard in this country.

Law enforcement and security guards can't believe that white people could be a threat. There has been more violence perpetuated by these white groups than any others. They are homegrown white terrorists. They were radicalized through propaganda just like the Muslims get radicalized through ISIS. They are the same brand of fanatic. To think that the US is an exceptional country is to kid ourselves. What is the quote from the Vietnam War? “We have met the enemy, and they are us.”

We are fighting the Civil War Part III or is it IV? The never-ending battle of "you look different from me and believe in a different god... bang bang... you're dead."

What a terrible week in the life of this nation. Sadly, I already feel myself moving on, almost normalizing that it happened, because once again, Trump may slither away from consequences. Be well, dear friend.
