Natural environment sustains the life of all beings universally. Trees are referred to in accounts of the principal events of the Buddha's life. His mother leaned against a tree for support as she gave birth to him. He attained enlightenment seated beneath a tree, and finally passed away as trees stood witness overhead -- Dalai Lama

Thank you, kjm. Something has gone wrong with the comment function. Today's post says "0 comments" despite the fact that you commented.
I love the symbolism of trees, even though I seldom include trees i my own photographs.
Looks a lot like those big oak trees I see when I'm visiting Santa Rosa coastal areas.
Loren -- One of my vivid memories of your blog is when you posted some photos in a forest (part of Nisqually?) and left the format large so that the tall trees could be seen only by scrolling. It is true that I am also fond of the twisty oak trees in Southern Oregon and California. And eucalyptus trees. And redwoods. I can only think of one other time that I painted a single tree, though.
