Bob Dylan Peruvian Tribute

I'm feeling sad today and need to let go of this old old sadness. This reminds me of a drive I took from Yosemite to Modesto, California, with an old friend on my birthday in 2001, a few weeks after Sept. 11. The song is "One of Us Must Know (Sooner or Later)," written by Bob Dylan in 1966, the year my friend and I first met.

"He didn't mean to treat me so bad. I just happened to be there, that's all."

What a road! And what a song... Dylan always has a line or a song for every mood or situation. At every crossroads in life he seems to have been there before... and written about it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I like what I see on your blog. Wonderful links there, too. Some of my mother's ancestors came from England, Scotland and Ireland. Although I've not seen the landscape there with my own eyes, it looks like home to me. "Let Me Die in My Footsteps" is one of my favorite songs of Bob Dylan.

Thanks so much for your comments. Your blog appeals to me too - will catch up on back-posts when I have time. I'm a big Dylan fan. Noted your quote from "Mississippi" - heard him sing this in London a few years ago in a rare cocert performance of this song.
